The Amtrak Downeaster made its inaugural run November 1st from Boston to Freeport, stopping at the station just 1 1/2 blocks from James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast. This new stop added to the Downeaster (previously stopped in Portland), makes it very convenient to leave the car behind. Save on gas, tolls, and general traffic hangups by taking the train. We will happily pick you up at the station and drop you off again upon your departure. What a great way to do your holiday shopping, hassle free! Head on up to Freeport after your Thanksgiving feast and enjoy the festivities in Freeport. The train makes it fun and easy!
