Days 3 & 4 of a Week in Freeport, Maine

To continue the week in Freeport, Maine at James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast, day 3 finds Katie and Eric well-rested and heading to Popham Beach.  This is a favorite beach of ours and we send many of our guests there, none yet disappointed.  Fort Popham can be found and explored here.  It played a part in the civil war.  The beach itself is sandy and quite long, allowing for a good walk and hike to explore the tidal pools, islands (when tide is out) and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Hard to beat Popham Beach however, Katie and Eric tried by heading to Mt. Washington on day 4.  After a full and satisfying breakfast, they headed out.  It is about two hours from Freeport.  They were at the top of Mt. Washington about lunchtime (via car, not hiking).  They then spent the afternoon at White Mountain National Park and Glen Ellis Falls.  They really enjoyed the sights and views.  Evening brought them back to James Place Inn for a good night’s rest after a very full day.

More to come, days 5 & 6 to follow.
