Free Concerts And Events – L.L. Bean 2016

L.L. Bean has announced their 2016 free concerts and events line up and it is Great!  Join L.L.Bean in Freeport, Maine, for the annual summer celebration. Bring your lawn chair for FREE outdoor concerts under the stars in Discovery Park. Summer 2016 Line Up:

July 2 throughout the day – Free Concert – 195th Army Band
Part of the Maine Army National Guard, the band is comprised of musicians from all over the state. Performances include: noon – Rock Band; 2 p.m. – Jazz Combo; 3:30 p.m. – Brass Quintet/Woodwind Quartet; 7:30 p.m. – Full Band.

July 3, 7:30 p.m. – Third Story
Known for their creative reinventions of popular covers, this New York-based trio also writes and performs unique material. You’ll find yourself humming along to the group’s melodic harmonies and R&B- and soul-inspired vocals.

July 4, 7:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. – Road Race and Fun Run
Compete in our annual 10K road race or one mile family fun run/walk. Proceeds support Casco Bay

July 4 – Fourth of July Celebration
Celebrate the Fourth with us in Freeport. Watch a classic parade on Main Street, then come back for a free outdoor concert with David Mallett & The Mallett Brothers Band, followed by fireworks (starting around 9 p.m.).

July 9, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Summer On The Coast – Open House At L.L. Bean Home Store
Get ready to be inspired at our outdoor living event! Meet expert stylists, enjoy sips and snacks, discover one-of-a-kind finds and learn something new with our free DIY workshops.

July 23, 7:30 p.m. – Frakie Ballard
Frankie is best known for his breakthrough hit “Helluva Life” from Sunshine & Whiskey. Though his music is classic country, you’ll also hear blues and Southern rock influences. He’s opened for Kenny Chesney and Lady Antebellum.

July 30, 7:30 p.m. – Grace Potter
Grace Potter’s music combines the fun of pure pop with a bit of folk and solid rock and roll roots. This radiant performer is known for her incredible vocals and high-energy live shows. She released her solo debut, Midnight, last year.

August 6, 7:30 p.m. – Lyle Lovett And His Large Band
Texan Lyle Lovett is an accomplished singer-songwriter who has been recording since the early ’80s. His eclectic, distinctive music blends thoughtful, witty lyrics with musical styles including country, folk, gospel and big-band swing.

August 13, 7:30 p.m. – The Lone Bellow
Born in the South and now based in Brooklyn, this talented trio doesn’t fit neatly into just one musical category. Their energetic, emotional performances rely on country, indie folk and gospel influences, all with a healthy dose of harmony

August 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; concert at 7:30 p.m. – Get Out + Play Day
Kids of all ages will enjoy this family day full of outdoor fun, including activities with local Scouts. Try out slack lining with the pros and test your skills on our mountain bike course. We’ll end the day with a concert featuring The Ballroom Thieves, performing with the Maine Youth Rock Orchestra.

August 20, 7:30 p.m. – The Ballroom Thieves By Maine Youth Rock Orchestra
The Ballroom Thieves combine the sincerity of folk music with the energy of rock and blues. They’re breaking ground as the first national band to tour with a youth orchestra—our home states’ own Maine Youth Rock Orchestra.

Join L.L.Bean in supporting shelter pets and programs. Bring your best friend for this fun annual festival featuring a 5K and walk, canine contests, dog demos, live music, food trucks and more.
