LL Bean Outdoor Discovery School

The LL Bean Outdoor Discovery School continues to delight our guests.  Guests of James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast this past weekend were new to Freeport, so we spent some time acquainting them with things to see and do.  They had brought their bicycles and were looking for some good routes to take.  We provided several options, and maps, to get them started.  When asked if they had heard about the LL Bean Summer Concert Series, they had not, nor about the LL Bean Outdoor Discovery School.  We again filled them in on the free concert happening just one block away, as well as the cool options offered at LL Bean, including kayaking, clay shooting, archery, and fly-fish casting.  They were delighted to hear that there was so much going on!  Their trip was spontaneous and it was their first time to Maine (from the Boston area).  They quickly set out on a bike ride, grabbing some yummy sandwiches at a local deli to enjoy along the way.  They had an amazing meal that evening, enjoying the concert on the way back.   Early the next day, they experienced the LL Bean Clay Shooting and had a blast!  All of this at the last minute and not much planning.  Make it part of your summer to head to Freeport and enjoy some of these great activities.  It is a great get-away that won’t break the bank and is a lot of fun.  We’ll take care of you and make you glad you came!
