Head to one of these scenic parks for a pristine, peaceful trek:
Cousin’s River Trail — Explore this half-mile trail which winds over hills and boardwalks to the shore of the Cousins River. The trailhead is located at the back left-hand corner of the Casco Bay YMCA parking lot on Old South Freeport Road, off Route 1.
Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park — Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park offers endless opportunities to explore. The park includes over 200 acres of land which vary from white pine forest, to salty marshes, to the rocky shorelines of Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River.
Winslow Park — Also located adjacent to Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River, Winslow Park is another option to take in beautiful water views for the cross-country skier or snowshoer.

L.L. Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School offers a number of guided tours depending on what you’re looking for. All required equipment is provided for each excursion.
Snowshoeing Discovery Course — L.L. Bean’s experienced instructors will provide a ‘snowshoeing 101’ where you’ll learn the basics and be ready to hit the trails. Instructors will then take you on a trek through a local park. Cost: $20 per person
Starlight Snowshoe Tour — Experience this magical snowshoeing tour under a blanket of stars. You’ll hit the trail after some basic instruction from your experienced guides and even stop for some hot cocoa and snacks along the way. The excursion begins at 6 pm and wraps up by 9 pm. Cost: $40 per person
Cross-Country Skiing Discovery Course — Never been cross-country skiing before or looking for a refresher? This course will teach you the basic skills required to enjoy this exhilarating winter sport. Head out on L.L. Bean’s private, groomed trails after learning from the pros. Cost: $20 per person
