Guests at James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast in Freeport, Maine often comment on the relaxing atmosphere of our inn – “a home away from home.” Some recent guests really took advantage of their time here before the holidays to relax by the fire in Pine Room (always fully stocked with wood) with a good book and a cup of tea. The holidays can be hectic and exhausting, so a little vacation, either before or after the holidays, is a wonderful treat to take some time to relax and restore. Take the hassles of driving out of it by taking the train from Boston to Freeport. The train station is just one block away. Perhaps you want to drive and do some exploring while you are here. Even in these winter months there is lots to do. Try cross-country skiing; take a walk along Popham Beach (great any time of year), visit a local museum.
