Shopping, and so much more in Freeport! Yes, Freeport is known for its outlet and retail shopping. However, this town offers plenty more to do in and around the area. Withing ten minutes of downtown, we have two beautiful state parks. Enjoy a hike or kayaking, perhaps bird watching. Great bicycle routes start just around the corner and can be as short as three miles (perfect to get to Harraseeket lobster shack), or extend 30 miles if you are up for a bit of a challenge ride. Lighthouses are just 20 minutes away; whale watching or puffin tours are just 45 minutes away. Come to Freeport to shop for the day but be sure to stay an extra day or two to explore the area and all that it has to offer.
