Spring Flowers at James Place Inn
Spring has arrived in Freeport! We are experiencing some warm days, beautiful blue skies, and the crocus are up. Come enjoy spring here in Freeport. In addition to shopping, enjoy a nice walk or hike in one of our nearby parks. Wolfe’s Neck is always delightful and offers beautiful views of the bay while Bradbury Mountain affords scenic views for miles on a clear day.
For all of you bird watchers, this is a great time to see migratory birds. The birds of prey are also out and on the move. We hiked Bradbury Mountain the other day and were rewarded with spectacular views at the summit. We could see out to the ocean and the curvature of the horizon, likely 80-100 miles in the distance. There was also a regular group of birders at the summit, following the birds of prey and documenting the sightings. That day, about 12-15 various types of hawks had been spotted, along with two bald eagles.
The flowers are coming up and showing their spring colors. The trees have buds on them – always a sign of spring. Come visit Freeport for your spring break or weekend getaway.
